24/7 news coverage channels are pretty great, but not for obvious reasons. They suck terribly for those obvious reasons. But if you’ve ever watched CNN or any morning news show like that on MSNBC, etc. for more than 15 minutes you’ve probably noticed something’s not right. That’s because you’ve just heard the same paragraph 3 times since you’ve started watching.
To be an optimal 24/7 news channel watcher, you have to watch for 5 minutes or so then turn the television off for about 3 days, then back on for another 5 minutes. By this time something new has developed in the story.
So when something BREAKING like this 8.8 earthquake in Chile and then the subsequent “expected” tsunami that’s going to literally swallow Hawaii and Barack Obama’s birth certificate whole, the 24/7 news coverage is especially mortifying.
